At Fortune, all projects are controlled to deliver value to our clients. Our quality control is maintained through project-specific plans to identify deliverables, scope of work, personnel, schedule, and safety. These plans are critical to the success of the projects and help identify any potential issues to minimize the disruption of work flow.
Quality is the responsibility of each project team member. Fortune places heavy emphasis on all our in-house quality assurance procedures set out in our Quality Assurance / Quality Control manual. All employees are trained and familiar with our expectations to deliver quality results on projects in a safe manner. We keep on hand access to all Provincial, CSA, legislation, and documentation pertinent to the work.

Husky Pipeline Tank 275

Fortune has been providing civil construction services to Husky since 2008. In 2018, Fortune performed the replacement of a tank base and ground stabilization for tank 275 in the pipeline facility. With the tank expertise, Fortune was able to completely stabilize and replace the tank base while the tank was suspended.
With the experience in such projects Fortune was able to complete the project on time, safely, and on-budget under abnormal circumstances.
Husky Sand Caverns Ecology Pit

The sand cavern ecology pit was a complex job that Fortune undertook at the direction of Husky. Fortune was commissioned to restore / strengthen the existing pit to enhance to usable longevity of the ecology pit. The scope included cutting and removing the concrete apron of the pit, assist with the floor steel removal, excavate and haul away pit subgrade 500 mm deep, stabilize the subgrade and pour a mud slab, drill and install rebar anchors, supply then place and tie reinforcing steel, prepare concrete forms, place and finish concrete to designed elevation utilizing two concrete pumps , replace apron and assist in replacing steel floor.
Upon the floor completion we installed a new weeping tile system to protect the new floor. This project was under a strict deadline as this facility is open 24 hours a day to receive disposal, Fortune had the ability to successfully organize all trades and supply 24-hour crews.
Husky Lloydminster Upgrader Plant 21 & 22

Fortune has been providing various civil construction services in the Husky Upgrader Facilities since 2008, helping with the maintenance and expansion of Plant 21 and Plant 24 H-oil and deluge projects.
Fortune was commissioned to do all the concrete demolition, excavation, disposal, supply and installation of stormwater systems, and install utilities including back fill as per Husky specifications.
We also successfully completed all scopes of work involving concrete on these projects to specification with supporting QA/QC documentation including building forms, placing and tying reinforcing steel, installing expansion joints, supplying and installing base plates and anchor bolts by wet set and coring, placing and finishing concrete with various finishes, completing all grout requirements both cementitious and epoxy.
